Distance and elevation are estimates from the GPX and may differ from GPS-device calculations. The file contains multiple segments: gaps between separate segments are not included in the calculation.
The original notes describe an MTB outing of approximately 40 km, taking about three hours at an estimated average speed of 13.5 km/h. These are contributor estimates rather than a guaranteed riding time.
Start at the car park on the right just before entering Moggio. Climb the surfaced road through the centre. At the roundabout, take the road descending towards a small bridge, where the climb begins. The first tarmac section averages about 6–7%.
At the red-and-white barrier, join the woodland track. Gradients remain fairly manageable, rarely exceeding 9% except briefly. Continue to the signed junction for Rifugio Nicola. Beyond it the climb becomes steeper, with the final section described at around 25%.
For the descent, retrace the route to the junction and turn left towards Vedeseta. The surface is rocky, with short sections of firm earth. On reaching tarmac, turn right and climb approximately 7–8 km to Culmine San Pietro, at around 6–7% in the original notes.
Enjoy the views before the final descent back to Moggio.
