The contributor estimates six hours including stops. Much of the route is on dedicated cycle paths, with some unsurfaced sections.

From Piazzale di Porta Mulina, descend to the right towards the lake and cross the footbridge over the water to the Canottieri harbour in Cittadella. Beyond a gate at the end of Via Santa Maria, keep right behind the houses and follow the path beside the fields to the Mantua–Peschiera cycle route.

Cross the local road towards Soave and take the gravel path along the Parcarello canal, reaching the embankment of the Diversivo del Mincio. After a few hundred metres on the surfaced path, cross the bridge to the other bank and continue towards Bosco della Fontana, the nature reserve containing the Gonzaga hunting lodge.

Continue to Marmirolo. Cross the main square and take the road for San Brizio and La Rotta. A local road follows the Molinella canal to the Marengo junction. Turn left towards Goito and the Pozzolo–Magli spillway, where the cycle path begins.

A short detour at a bridge reaches Massimbona, with its Romanesque church and historic mill. Back on the cycle path, continue to Pozzolo and the Mincio.

Ride on to Mulini di Volta Mantovana, then Borghetto, near Valeggio and Parco Sigurtà. Heading north, pass Monzambano and reach the Salionze dam. Cross to the right bank and follow the poplar-lined path to the fortress at Peschiera.
