From Hotel Lidia in Angeli di Mergo, province of Ancona, climb towards Castelletta via Gorgovivo.
On the old mountain road, before the hairpin preceding San Pietro, an old mule track appears on the left. It leads to the trail descending to Grotte. On the contributor’s ride, orange ribbons on trees marked this enjoyable MTB descent.
From Grotte, climb to Sant’Elia. Left of the cemetery, join another technical and enjoyable trail, demanding in places, back to Gorgovivo. Follow the road from there to Hotel Lidia. Historical ribbons or accommodation references do not confirm present-day waymarking or services.
